JENNY LESSIN’s Wedding Dresses are a fusion of strong design and beautiful execution. Each dress is a unique response to the client’s wishes and personality. Jenny has a contemporary approach to bridalwear that is based on twenty years experience in designing and making individual clothes for women. Her creative and original designs are always underpinned by her knowledge of couture methods and decorative techniques.
The studio is filled with inspiration, boxes of embroidery samples, beads and vintage trimmings. French lace motifs and handmade organza flowers are displayed on linen dummies. You can see work in progress being modelled on the stand and a gallery of photos.
At an initial consultation Jenny will listen to your ideas and consider carefully the venue and mood of your wedding. From the outset each client will be involved in the design and evolution of their dress.
She will use drawings and fabric samples to work towards a final design and costing. Her love of fabrics means she works closely with specialised suppliers in order to source the ideal fabric for each dress. When appropriate she can collaborate with bespoke jewellery designers, embroiderers and accessory makers.
A toile is then made as a mock-up to perfect the fit and refine the style on the body.
A bespoke dress can take up to six months to complete and require at least three fittings.
