The first meeting at the north London Studio is informal and open ended. We discuss a range of ideas, inspirations, alternatives and budget. Some brides come with photos and specific ideas, others come to meet me and see work in progress.
Using drawings and fabric swatches first ideas are interpreted and developed to agree an approach with costings.
A calico toile is then made. This allows the dressmaker to perfect the cut and refine the style. This is the chance for the client to see the design on the body and agree any further changes.
Making of the dress starts. The number of subsequent fittings depends on the complexity of the dress.
